What

This site is intended to serve as a discussion-starter on a range of topics. Social issues, practical theology, literature and reading will feature frequently.

Why

Graham has been strongly influenced by Prof. Alister McGrath, (having studied under him and others for a term at Oxford).

Alister McGrath has proposed the idea of “Organic Theologians”.This is explored on his first blog, but essentially is the notion that professional theologians and academics speak in a dialect that is not the natural language of the ordinary person. They speak to audiences and for purposes that are not generally in the public square.

Unless there are organic theologians – ordinary people, who use their intellect to translate academic ideas into the language of the ordinary person in the street – then theology will remain an upper storey activity.
